Ginger Simple Syrup

The ginger-y kick in this simple syrup will bring your cocktails to the next level. The ginger also adds a spiciness and warmth that is sometimes missing in mocktails. This simple syrup is especially delicious in Ginger Peach Rose Sangria.

Total time: 1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄3 – 1⁄2 cup peeled and thinly sliced fresh ginger
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients (1⁄3 – 1⁄2 cup ginger, 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup water) in a saucepan
  2. Cover and bring to a boil
  3. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Turn off the heat and let sit (still covered) for 1 hour
  5. Remove the ginger
  6. Let cool and store in the refrigerator
